This stunning handmade Gold Crush Bottle Table Lamp by British designer Mineheart features a crushed glass bottle shaped base with fabric lampshade and reflective copper colour lining. Because each one is handmade, everyone is unique.
The crushed plastic drinks bottle with its sculptural sharp angles immediately caught the eye of the design world. Now they have revisited the idea and this time the distinctive shape is created using high quality hand-blown glass that is squashed by hand.
The moulded glass creates softer angles, planes and contours creating a beautiful organic looking sculpture, reminiscent at times of a twisting body, it crosses the boundary between art and design.

Mineheart was launched in 2010 by designers Brendan Young and Vanessa Battaglia. Battaglia's Italian background and love of art, combined with Young's highly eccentric British wit has created a family of products with a playful quirky quality. Brendan and Vanessa are known for their clever re-working of materials and references to traditional imagery and the result is in an unexpected aesthetic that fuses past and present and blurs the line between art and design.
