The stylish Hauteville Counter Chair has been given a warmer, softer feel with the incorporation of plywood legs. Designed by Henri Lavallard Boget for Lyon Beton, it draws its inspiration from the iconic mid-century design but with a modern twist.
The balance between brutalism and elegance is still present. The wooden legs are made of birch plywood. The concrete shell of the seat perfectly matches body’s curves. It’s very soft to the touch and extremely comfortable.
Despite the use of unconventional materials, the chair has an incredibly ergonomic and comfortable seat, while ultra-fine sanding gives it a smooth finish. Versatile enough for practically any space, this minimalist design will leave an impression everywhere it goes. It's the perfect height for perching at your kitchen island or counter.
The concrete used to create this design is blended with sand and fiberglass to create a lightweight and durable material. Do not use abrasive materials or solvents on the surface and apply a protective wax or oil regularly.
